from Brandwijk
“We farm near Brandwijk, high and dry on top of the dune, the Donk, which was formed by the river. There was a monastery here once, but now I live here with my family and our 125 cows. I’m the third generation to farm this land and my challenge is to farm with zero-nett energy processes. To start with, we’ve installed solar panels on the new cowshed. But whether the sun shines or not, my cows are allowed to graze outside in the meadows around the Donk, so they give delicious, honest milk which makes good, naturally matured Graafstroom cheese.”
Regards, Ad.
